I believe that the Angle Stores was so named because it followed the line of the old tramway transversing the road at an angle. There is a wooden framed building now in use as Stephanies Dress Agency that still follows this orientation and this might have once been the Angle Stores. William Burge, listed as a brewer in 1883, also had connections with the Somerset Brewery in Cheltenham.
