Notes
Charles Archibald Millie - Family History Notes. Probably influenced by his aunt Isabella, he emigrated to California in 1891 and later to Alberta. Here he met and Married Mary Leslie Brown. Her family had emigrated from Fife, Scotland in 1889. Charles and Mary lived in Gleichen Alta, unti l 1917 and it was there that their family were born. It was during this time he became great friends with Douglas Hardwick. In 1907 he returned to Scotland to visit his home and persuaded his sister Isabella to go back to Canada with him and hel p with the raising of his family and their home. The years that followed were full of hard work and were not easy, and the home was a meeting place for miles around with a bed and a meal always available, with music and dancing in the evening, with Isabella at the Piano.
